The GDEMU optical drive simulation board for Sega Dreamcast console replaces your GD-Rom Drive assembly and allows you to play all Dreamcast game ROMs directly from an SD Card! The GDEMU emulates the operation of the GD-Rom drive so you Dreamcast will function as if you are playing the real disc. Plus, as your games are loading from the much faster SD card, your games will load quicker and play smoother!

This DIY kit includes all the hardware you will need to install your new Dreamcast super-solution! Easy to follow instructions will make this a breeze for anyone with even a little bit technical ability.

FIRMWARE: Why aren't we using the V5.20.5 firmware? This latest update does not provide changes that will affect most users. We've personally experienced some stability issues with this version so have chosen the version we feel is most stable. However, if you would prefer the V5.20.5 firmware, we have included instructions on how you can easily upgrade the firmware yourself.

IMPORTANT WARNING: The GDEMU is only compatible with VA1 model Dreamcast consoles. Check the manufacture label on the bottom of your console to confirm you have a circled number 1. If you attempt to boot this board in a VA0 or VA2 dreamcast, you might destroy your motherboard!

IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATION: The Dreamcast has a high occurrence of power supply boards burning out. This seems to be even more prevalent after installing the GDEMU due to the increased power usage of the board. We highly recommend replacing your power supply board at the same time as installing the GDEMU. These are also available in our store.

Warranty

This product is warranted against defect for 90 Days. Should your unit cease functioning as expected within this time period, we will replace your unit at no extra charge. This warranty will be null and void if any damage caused by the user is found on the GDEMU board or associated parts. The warrantee is required to return the complete kit to Sega Replay prior to the shipping of a replacement unit. Shipping costs for returning the unit are not covered by this warranty, however, Sega Replay will cover the cost of shipping the replacement unit.
